THE YOUNG AMERICAS BUSINESS TRUST (YABT) WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROMOTE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE AND ELSEWHERE THROUGH PROGRAMS, PROJECTS, AND ACTIVITIES FOCUSED ON: HELPING TO CREATE AND ADVANCE EFFORTS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS, ESPECIALLY THOSE LIVING IN OR NEAR POVERTY.

INNOVACTION CHALLENGE: PROGRAM DEVELOPED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE INTER-AMERICAN FOUNDATION AND THE OAS SUMMITS OF THE AMERICAS SECRETARIAT. THE PROGRAM IS A COMPETITION WITH THE GOAL OF EMPOWERING YOUTH ENTREPRENEURS, ESPECIALLY THOSE FROM AFRO- DESCENDANT, INDIGENOUS, LGBTI, AND OTHER MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES, TO RESPOND TO THE EMERGING NEEDS OF GRASSROOTS COMMUNITIES AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.


THE ECO CHALLENGE: HEMISPHERIC PROGRAM THAT SUPPORTS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND FOCUS ITS EFFORTS IN THE NEW PLASTICS ECONOMY. IT WORKS WITH YOUNG PEOPLE AND ENTREPRENERUS TO DEVELOP SOLUTIONS THAT CAN HELP THE REGION TO IMPROVE THEIR MANAGEMENT OF PLASTICS. IT PROMOTED THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY MODELS AND REINFORCE THE RECYCLING, REUSING AND REINVENTING PLASTIC USE IN THE PACKAGING INDUSTRY.


AMERICAS COMPETITIVENESS FORUM: HEMISPHERIC PROGRAM THAT PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF POLICIES TO SUPPORT INNOVATION, COMPETITIVENESS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES VIA THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARIAT OF INTEGRAL DEVELOPMENT. IT CONVENEES AND ANNUAL FORUM IN WHICH POLICY MAKERS EXCHANGE BEST PRACTICES AND DEFINE PRIORITIES AND MANDATES.
