THE CONSTITUTIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY CENTER (CAC) IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT THINK TANK, PUBLIC INTEREST LAW FIRM AND ACTION CENTER BASED IN WASHINGTON, DC AND IS DEDICATED TO FULFILLING THE PROGRESSIVE PROMISE OF THE CONSTITUTION'S TEXT AND HISTORY. LAUNCHED IN JUNE 2008 AS THE SUCCESSOR TO THE COMMUNITY RIGHTS COUNSEL, CAC PRODUCES ORIGINAL SCHOLARSHIP, PROMOTES THE CONVICTION THAT THE CONSTITUTION IS A PROGRESSIVE DOCUMENT, AND USES LITIGATION TO MOVE THE LAW IN A DIRECTION THAT COMPORTS WITH CONSTITUTIONAL TEXT AND HISTORY.
