M.O.M.I.ES OST PROGRAMS CURRENTLY OPERATES IN 4 SITES IN THE DC METROPOLITAN AREA, ENGAGING CHILDREN AND YOUTH, AGES 3 TO 12. THE OST PROGRAM MAKES A LONG-TERM INVESTMENT IN THE LIVES OF OUR FAMILIES, AS IT PROVIDES A HOLISTIC AND UNIQUE LEARNING SUPPORT AND OPPORTUNITIES TO NURTURE OUR CHILDRENS GENIUS AND PUT THEM ON A LIFE-LONG PATH TO SUCCESS, THROUGH HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING, CULTURAL EMPOWERMENT, ARTS & HUMANITIES, AND LIFE ENRICHMENT SKILLS. M.O.M.I.ES SAFE HAVEN SUMMER CAMP COMBATS SUMMER LEARNING LOSS AND STRENGTHENS KEY SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL COMPETENCIES. BELOW ARE THE FOLLOWING AREAS WE FOCUS ON: CULTURE-BASED LEARNING, ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT, MEDITATION AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, FIELD TRIPS, COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT, SPORTS AND RECREATION, AND LIFE SKILLS. M.O.M.I.E PROGRAMS SERVE OVER 250 CHILDREN & YOUTH ANNUALLY.


M.O.M.I.ES OUT-OF-SCHOOL-TIME (OST) PROGRAMS SERVE STUDENTS THAT ARE CONSIDERED AT RISK. M.O.M.I.ES MEETS STUDENTS 5 TIMES PER WEEK, THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR AND SUMMER, AND HAS AIDED IN STUDENTS IMPROVING IN READING AND MATH, SOCIAL INTERACTION, AND LEARNING AT LEAST THREE VOCATIONS.


THE BMEF HAS IMPACTED OVER 6,200 GLOBAL MONTESSORIANS SINCE ITS FOUNDING IN JULY 2020 AND HAS AWARDED FINANCIAL AWARDS TO BLACK ADULTS FOR MONTESSORI TEACHER TRAINING, FAMILIES, AND SCHOOL ENTREPRENEURS COMMITTED TO AN ANTI-BIAS, ANTIRACIST PEDAGOGY. THE NEED THOUGH HAS NEVER BEEN GREATER TO CONTINUE OUR WORK TOWARDS HEALING THE BLACK COMMUNITY FROM THE LACK OF MONTESSORI ACCESS DUE TO THE TRAUMA OF RACISM.
