CAPALS PUBLIC SERVICE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM PLACES UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS WITHIN THE PUBLIC SECTOR IN THE WASHINGTON, D.C.AND THOUGHOUR THE U.S. INTERN DUTIES VARY AND MAY INCLUDE POLICY OR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, PROJECT COORDINATION AND MANAGEMENT, BUSINESS, LAW, SPECIAL EVENTS, COMMUNICATIONS, AND MORE. PLACEMENTS MAY BE IN RURAL OR URBAN AREAS, SUCH AS ALASKA, DELAWARE AND CALIFORNIA. THESE INTERSHIPS ARE OPEN TO ALL MAHJORS. ALL INTERNS ARE AWARED A MINIMUM $3,000 STIPEND. WASHINGTON LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (WLP). THIS OPPORTUNITY FOR INTERNS AND YOUNG PROFESSIONALS TO SUPPLEMENT THEIR SUMMER INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE AND LEARN ABOUT ISSUES FACING THE AANHPI COMMUNITY, EXPLORE CAREERS IN PUBLIC SERVICE, AND SHARE THEIR STORIES, SESSIONS INCLUDE PANEL DISCUSSIONS AS WELL AS SKILLS-BASED SIMULATIONS. WLP HAS BEEN THE ONLY EDUCATIONAL AND LEASERSHIP DEVELOPMENT WORKING SERIES IN WASHINGTON DC THAT FOCUES SPECIFICALLY ON THE AANHPI COMMUNITY AND THE COMMUNITYS ROLE IN PUBLIC POLICY.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CULTURAL PROGRAMMING. CAPAL ORGANIZES REGULAR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CULTURAL AWARENESS PROGRAMMING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR IN THE WASHINGTON, D.C. METRO AREA. EVENTS ARE OPEN TO PROFESSIONALS FROM ALL SECTOR WHO HAVE AN INTEREST IN PUBLIC SERVICE AND/OR THE AANHPI COMMUNITY. THESE EVENTS GENERALLY OCCUR ON A MONTHLY BASIS AND INCLUDE NETWORKING MIXERS, SPEAKER PANEL, AND ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS.
