THE CEDICE FOUNDATION IS A NON-PARTISAN FREE MARKET ORGANIZATION. ITS MAIN OBJECTIVE IS TO PROMOTE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE ECONOMIC CONCEPT OF THE FREE MARKET AND INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY. HISTORICALLY, THE FOUNDATION HAS SUPPORTED VARIOUS ACTIVITIES IN COUNTRIES WITH DEVELOPING ECONOMIES. ITS PRIMARY ACTIVITY IS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN DEVELOPING ECONOMIES WHO LACK THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES TO OBTAIN A FUNDAMENTAL KNOWLEDGE OF FREE MARKET PRINCIPLES, PRIVATE PROPERTY CONCEPTS, AND THE RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY. HISTORICALLY, OTHER ACTIVITIES HAVE INCLUDED BOOK PURCHASE PROGRAMS, PUBLICATIONS, STUDENT PROGRAMS, LIBRARY SUPPORT, ESTABLISHMENT OF ACADEMIC CHAIRS, AWARDS/RESEARCH, INTERNSHIP SUPPORT, COMMUNITY PROGRAMS, RADIO PROGRAMMING, ECONOMIC ORIENTATION FOR JOURNALISTS, INDEX OF ECONOMIC FREEDOM PARTICIPATION, AND VIDEO DOCUMENTARY PRODUCTION.
CEDICE VENEZUELA, IN CONJUNCTION WITH ATLAS NETWORK, LAUNCHED THE LIBERTY ROAD SHOW, PARTS I AND II. FOUR THOUSAND COPIES OF THE BOOK BY ANTONELLA MARTY, "CAPITALISM: AN ANTIDOTE AGAINST POVERTY," WERE PUBLISHED AND DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT VENEZUELA. MS. MARTY HELD MEDIA INTERVIEWS AND VISITED THREE MAIN CITIES IN THE COUNTRY TO MEET WITH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, BUSINESS SECTOR PARTICIPANTS AND ENTREPRENEURS, AND UNIVERSITY LEADERS. THE FOCUS HAS BEEN ON YOUTH ENGAGEMENT. IN ANOTHER PARTNERSHIP EFFORT, CEDICE PRODUCED A STUDY ON COVID-19 AND ITS EFFECTS ON THE ECONOMY. THIS EFFORT WAS UNDERTAKEN WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF OTHER LATIN AMERICAN THINK TANKS WHO PRODUCED STUDIES FOR THEIR CORRESPONDING COUNTRIES. THE STUDIES INCLUDED POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS.
