VGPA PROMOTES AND PROTECTS VIRGINIA CORN AND SMALL GRAIN PRODUCERS, AND PROVIDES VALUE TO THE SURROUNDING INDUSTRY THROUGH OUR ROLE AS AN INFORMATION SOURCE, PRODUCER ADVOCATE, AND PROVIDER OF END-USER RELATIONS AND PUBLIC OUTREACH.

AGRICULTURAL EVENTS AND EDUCATION 2021 AG EXPO: VGPA PARTNERED WITH OTHER COMMODITY GROUPS TO HOST THE 2021 VIRGINIA AGRICULTURAL EXPO AUGUST 5, 2021 AT THE HISTORIC CORBIN HALL FARM IN MIDDLESEX COUNTY. MORE THAN 2,000 FARMERS, AGRICULTURAL PROFESSIONALS AND INTERESTED PARTIES EXPERIENCED FIELD PLOT AND SOIL PIT TOURS AS WELL AS OTHER INDUSTRY RELATED EVENTS. THE EVENT PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR FARMERS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE UP-TO-DATE FARM EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY FOR TODAY'S PRECISION AGRICULTURE OPERATIONS. 2022 ANNUAL CONFERENCE: PRODUCERS AND AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS PARTICIPATED IN THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE HELD FEBRUARY 10, 2022 AT MEADOW EVENT PARK IN DOSWELL, VA. THE PROGRAM INCLUDED KEYNOTE SPEAKERS AND CONCURRENT BREAKOUT SESSIONS COVERING A WIDE RANGE OF TOPICS FACING THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY.
PROMOTION AND EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS AND INDUSTRY EVENTS VGPA SERVES AS AN INFORMATION RESOURCE TO PROVIDE A VOICE FOR VA GRAIN PRODUCERS AND ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES, TO PROMOTE THE INDUSTRY. VGPA PROVIDES GRAIN-BASED PRODUCTS AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS TO SCHOOL AND INDUSTRY PARTNERS DURING EDUCATIONAL, TRADE, AND OTHER EVENTS ACROSS THE COMMONWEALTH, INCLUDING THE 2021 VIRGINIA STATE FAIR. VGPA PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO CLASSROOMS, FIELD DAYS AND LOCAL ACTIVITIES ACROSS THE COMMONWEALTH. VGPA WORKS TO PROMOTE POSITIVE TRADE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL VIRGINIA GRAINS IN NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MARKETS.
PROMOTIONS AND COMMUNCIATIONS VGPA WORKS UNILATERALLY AND IN CONJUNCTION WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO PROMOTE CORN AND SMALL GRAINS. SPECIFICALLY, VGPA: 1) MAINTAINS A WEBSITE AND ENGAGES VIA SOCIAL MEDIA TOOLS TO SERVE AS A RESOURCE FOR PRODUCERS, INDUSTRY, END USERS, MEDIA CONSUMERS AND ELECTED AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS; 2) PUBLISHES AND DISTRIBUTES "VGPA NEWS AND UPDATES- AND 3) SUPPORTS INITIATIVES TO EDUCATE CONSUMERS ON CORN AND SMALL GRAIN PRODUCERS AND VIRGINIA'S AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY AS A WHOLE.
