THE COUNCIL HELD QUARTERLY MEETINGS TO FOSTER DISCUSSIONS WITH U.S. POSTAL SERVICE MANAGEMENT ON IMPORTANT TOPICS. MEETINGS INCLUDE ANALYSIS OF KEY ISSUES FACING THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE AND PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION REGARDING THE PERSPECTIVE OF SOME OF THE NATION'S LARGEST MAILERS. APPROXIMATELY 30 MEMBERS ATTENDED.


THE COUNCIL ALSO PARTICIPATES IN PROCEEDINGS BEFORE THE POSTAL REGULATORY COMMISSION, WHETHER ADMINISTRATIVE LITIGATION, RULEMAKINGS OR STUDIES. ALL OF THESE HAVE A DIRECT BEARING ON THE POSTAL SYSTEM, AND THE VIEWS OF THE COUNCIL AS A WHOLE ARE CONVEYED TO THE COMMISSION.


THE COUNCIL ADVOCATES ITS VIEWS ON POSTAL ISSUES PENDING BEFORE THE CONGRESS TO INTERESTED MEMBERS AND RELEVANT COMMITTEES.
