NEW PLAY PRODUCTION: WOOLLY MAMMOTH PRODUCES AND PRESENTS 6-10 PRODUCTIONS A YEAR, BRINGING IN 50,000 PEOPLE EACH SEASON. WOOLLY IS ONE OF AMERICA'S FEW MAJOR THEATERS DEVOTED ENTIRELY TO NEW WORK. OUR PREMIERES HAVE GONE ON TO BE PRODUCED AT MORE THAN 200 THEATERS IN 39 STATES AND 12 COUNTRIES. IN FY22 WE PREMIERED THE PLAY A STRANGE LOOP WHICH WENT ON TO BROADWAY GARNERING 11 TONY AWARD NOMINATIONS AND WINNING 2, INCLUDING BEST MUSICAL. THIS TRACK RECORD HAS ESTABLISHED WOOLLY AS A NATIONAL LEADER IN NEW PLAY PRODUCTION AND HAS GARNERED THE THEATRE WITH LONG STANDING RECOGNITION AS "WASHINGTON'S MOST DARING THEATRE COMPANY" (NEW YORK TIMES, 1991).

NEW PLAY DEVELOPMENT: WOOLLY MAMMOTH IS COMMITTED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW PLAYS, WITH A UNIQUE PROCESS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO BRING EACH PROJECT TO FRUITION. THIS MIGHT INCLUDE WORKSHOPS, READINGS, RESEARCH TRIP, OR A COMBINATION THEREOF, DEPENDING ON THE NEEDS OF EACH PLAY AND CREATIVES. A FULLY STAFFED ARTISTIC TEAM INCLUDING THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, DIRECTOR OF NEW WORK, ACTING COMPANY, AND RESIDENT DESIGNERS ALLOWS US TO PROVIDE THIS FLEXIBLE ROSTER OF SUPPORT AND TO MOBILIZE THE TRAJECTORY OF A PROJECT AS APPROPRIATE.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT/ACCESS: WOOLLY MAMMOTH'S NATIONALLY ACCLAIMED CONNECTIVITY INITIATIVE WAS FOUNDED IN 2009 TO LINK WOOLLY'S ARTISTIC MISSION WITH ITS SOCIAL MISSION TO ENGAGE WITH THE MOST THOUGHT-PROVOKING AND CHALLENGING QUESTIONS OF OUR TIME BY ENHANCING THE TOTAL THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE FOR AUDIENCES. DURING WOOLLY'S 20-21 SEASON, WE LAUNCHED THE CONNECTIVITY CORE PARTNER PROGRAM. THESE ARE LONG-TERM MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH ORGANIZATIONS WHO SHARE THE SAME VALUES AROUND INCLUSION, ANTI-RACISM, SOCIAL JUSTICE, AND THE POWER OF ART. CONTINUED IN SCHEDULE O
