MEMBERSHIP: THE ACADEMY MAINTAINS AND ADMINISTERS INFORMATION RELATING TO ITS MEMBERS, COMPILES AND PREPARES PUBLICATIONS DRAWING ON THESE RECORDS, PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP THROUGH COMMITTEE INVOLVEMENT AND ANSWERS QUESTIONS FOR MEMBERS, NON-MEMBER PROFESSIONALS, AND THE PUBLIC.
ADVOCACY: THE ACADEMY ADVOCATES TO THE U.S. CONGRESS AND STATE LEGISLATURES ON BEHALF OF ITS MEMBERSHIP ON KEY ISSUES IMPACTING THE SPECIALTY, MEMBERS' PRACTICES AND PATIENTS. NUMEROUS OPPORTUNITIES ARE PROVIDED FOR ACADEMY MEMBERS TO INTERACT WITH THEIR ELECTED OFFICIALS.
