IN SERIES COMPLETED THE PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES SUCCESSFULLY DURING ITS 2020-2021 SEASON. THE PROGRAMS WERE OFFERED TO AUDIENCES ONLINE AND IN PERSON FOR FREE AND INCLUDED: GRIEF TRILOGY - A TRIO OF FILMS MADE ABOUT LIFE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC; GONZALEZ CANTATA - A FILM OF THIS SATIRICAL ELECTION TIMED WORK BY YOUNG AMERICAN FEMALE COMPOSER MELISSA DUNPHY; DUKE ELLINGTON'S VIRTUAL NEIGHBORHOOD - A DIGITAL FIELDTRIP EXPERIENCE WITH VIRTUAL WALKING TOUR FOR DCPS STUDENTS; IN RECITAL - 10 DIGITAL RECITALS BY LOCAL BIPOC ARTISTS; BLACK FLUTE - A FILM ADAPTATION OF MOZART'S "MAGIC FLUTE" BY A LOCAL CREATIVE TEAM AND PERFORMERS OF COLOR - MADE FOR FILM AND SCREEN FOR FREE ON THE NATIONAL MALL; BOHEME IN THE HEIGHTS - AN ANIMATED SPANISH LANGUAGE AFRO-LATINX VERSION OF PUCCINI'S OPERA SET IN COLUMBIA HEIGHTS AND MOUNT PLEASANT.IN SERIES PRIORITIZED THE SUPPORT THAT IT GIVES FINANCIALLY AND CREATIVELY TO LOCAL ARTISTS. BECAUSE OF THIS WE CHOSE TO PRODUCE GREAT QUANTITIES OF WORK DURING THE PANDEMIC AS A WAY TO NOT ONLY STAY CONNECTED WITH OUR COMMUNITY, BUT ALSO TO PROVIDE LIFELINES TO OUR ARTISTS. THIS MADE US VERY SUCCESSFULLY ARTISTICALLY AND ORGANIZATIONALLY AS WE BUILT RELATIONSHIPS OF DEPTH WITH MULTIPLE DC COMMUNITIES. THIS HAS INCLUDED PARTICULAR WORK IN ANACOSTIA WITH THE FRIENDS OF OXON RUN, AS WELL AS NEW PARTNERSHIPS WITH HOWARD UNIVERSITY, DCPS, DPR, AND THE MAYOR'S OFFICE ON LATINX AFFAIRS. WE WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE ALL ASPECTS OF THE YEAR OF PROGRAMMING THAT WE ORIGINALLY PROPOSED, WITH GREAT AMOUNTS OF LEARNING ALONG THE WAY. WE TRIPLED OUR NORMAL AUDIENCE REACH FROM 8,000 TO OVER 24,000, AND WEREABLE TO PROVIDE ALL OF THAT CONTENT COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE.
