ADVOCACY: ADVOCATE TO PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF CONSTRUCTION SUBCONTRACTORS, SPECIALTY TRADE CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS AND IMPROVE THE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT BEFORE ALL BRANCHES AND LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT AND THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDED IMPACTING KEY FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY PROPOSALS CONCERNING FUNDING OF CONSTRUCTION, TAXES, IMMIGRATION, SAFETY AND HEALTH, AND GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT; DEVELOPING MODEL MATERIALS FOR AND COACHING STATE AND LOCAL SUBCONTRACTOR ORGANIZATIONS ON THEIR ADVOCACY AREAS ON ISSUES SUCH AS PAYMENT, BIDDING AND RISK ALLOCATION; FILING AMICUS BRIEFS CONCERNING SUBCONTRACTOR ISSUES BEFORE NUMEROUS APPEALS COURTS; COLLABORATING WITH OTHER INDUSTRY GROUPS ON BEST PRACTICES AND STANDARD DOCUMENTS.
