1.THE KAUAKOKO FOUNDATION HELD THE MAY DAY SHOW ON MAY 1 AT THE WAIKIKI SHELL THAT INVOLVED THE KUMU (TEACHERS) AND ALL 150 HAUMANA (STUDENTS) AND WAS VIEWED BY AROUND 2,000 GUESTS. THE KUMU, WITH THE HELP OF THE STUDENTS, PRODUCED THE SHOW INCLUDING MUSIC, CHOREOGRAPHY, COSTUMING, HULA, OLI (CHANT), HULA IMPLEMENTS, AND STAGING.2. MOONLIGHT AT KALAELOA SHOW HELD ON DECEMBER 7 AT THE GERMAINE'S LUAU VENUE IN KALAELOA THAT INVOLVED THE KUMU AND 110 OF THE STUDENTS AND WAS VIEWED BY 1,000 GUESTS. THE KUMU, WITH THE HELP OF THE STUDENTS, PRODUCED THE SHOW, INCLUDING MUSIC, CHOREOGRAPHY, COSTUMING, HULA, CHANT, HULA IMPLEMENTS, AND STAGING.3. THIRTY OF THE KEIKI (CHILDREN) AND KUMU PARTICIPATED IN THE HULA O NA KEIKI COMPETITION IN LAHAINA, MAUI IN NOVEMBER 2022. THIS EVENT INVOLVED THE NEW GENERATION OF KUMU TO LEAD THE SELECTION OF SONGS, OLI, COSTUMING AND CHOREOGRAPHY FOR THE GROUP'S PERFORMANCE THAT WAS VIEWED BY 500 PEOPLE.4. THE KUMU PRODUCED A NEW CD IN 2022, THAT INCLUDED 11 SONGS AND 1 OLI. NINE OF THOSE SONGS WERE ORIGINALS WRITTEN BY THE KUMU OR THEIR STUDENTS. THE SONGS ARE THE HAWAIIAN WAY OF DOCUMENTING THE HALAU'S EXPERIENCES FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. IN SEVERAL CASES, THE SONGS INVOLVE TRIPS THE KUMU TOOK WITH THE STUDENTS TO LEARN ABOUT THE PEOPLE AND PLACES FOR WHOM AND FOR WHICH THEY DANCE.
