SINCE CREATION IN 1925, THE VIRGINIA FFA ASSOCIATION HAS MADE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF STUDENTS BY DEVELOPING THEIR POTENTIAL FOR PREMIER LEADERSHIP, PERSONAL GROWTH, AND CAREER SUCCESS THROUGH AGRICULTURE.

NATIONAL CONVENTION SOME VIRTUAL FOR THIS FISCAL YR - VIRGINIA FFA MEMBERS TYPICALLY TRAVEL TO NATIONAL FFA CONVENTION TO COMPETE IN CAREER DEVELOPMENT EVENTS, RECEIVE AMERICAN FFA DEGREES, PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS, TAKE PART IN THE NATIONAL FFA DAY OF SERVICE, AND BROWSE THE NATIONAL FFA CAREER SHOW. PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONVENTION ALLOWS STUDENTS TO SEE THE SITES, MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND PARTICIPATE IN EVENTS WITH STUDENTS FROM ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY. AFTER SETTING THE COURSE FOR THE COMING YEAR WITH OFFICIAL DELEGATE SESSIONS, ACTIVE DEBATE AND THE ELECTION OF NEW STUDENT OFFICERS, FFA MEMBERS RETURN TO THEIR CHAPTERS WITH NEW EXPERIENCES TO SHARE WITH THEIR COMMUNITIES. OUR STUDENTS ARE LEARNING VALUABLE SCIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS, EXPLORING CAREER AND LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AND DEVELOPING THE SKILLS TO BECOME PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY. THIS YEAR THE VIRGINIA FFA ASSOCIATION HELD ITS STATE FFA CONVENTION AT VIRGINIA TECH, BLACKSBURG, VA. THE CONVENTION HOSTS OVER 2000 MEMBERS, ADVISORS, AND GUESTS FROM ALL AROUND THE STATE.


FAIRS, CONTESTS, AND CONFERENCES - TYPICALLY VIRGINIA FFA MEMBERS TRAVEL TO BIG E SOME VIRTUAL FOR THIS FISCAL YR, THE LARGEST FAIR IN THE NORTHEAST TO COMPETE IN CAREER LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT EVENTS. PARTICIPATION IN THIS EVENT HAS ALLOWED OUR STUDENTS TO SEE THE SITES, MAKE NEW FRIENDS, AND PARTICIPATE IN EVENTS WITH STUDENTS FROM ALL ACROSS THE EAST COAST.


LOCAL CHAPTER SUPPORT AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT - THE STUDENT STATE OFFICERS TRAVEL AROUND THE STATE TO VISIT LOCAL CHAPTER MEETINGS. THIS PROVIDES THE STUDENTS AND OFFICERS WITH CAREER INSIGHT, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES. THIS PROGRAM IS FUNDED FROM MEMBERSHIP DUES.
