DURING THE 2020 TAX YEAR, THE MEDICAL GUILD DONATED $126,671 TO THE UF FOUNDATION TO ENDOW THE UF MEDICAL GUILD GRADUATE RESEARCH AWARD FOR BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAMS FUND. $8,000 WAS PROVIDED TO THE UF COLLEGE OF MEDICINE GRADUATE RESEARCH AWARD. $3,000 WAS PROVIDED TO THE UF COLLEGE OF MEDICINE ADVANCEMENT TO CANDIDACY AWARD, AND $2,000 TO THE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE MAREN AWARD. Residents transportation and cost are the 2 biggest barriers to health care; taking more than 1.5 hours and three buses to get to Alachua County Health Dept's main site, the sole place that 23% of residents obtained care. 18% of residents were receiving care only through the ER and 13% received no health care at all. This grant provided: $3000 for physicals for uninsured or underinsured children. $4700.00: Dental Expenses - 30 $155 pediatric dental checkups for children that do not have dental insurance. $300.00: Outreach - Funds to provide for family activities.
