TO EXCEL IN PROVIDING HEALTHCARE BY UNDERSTANDING AND RESPONDING TO THE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS OF THOSE WE SERVE.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
PATIENT SERVICES - NEWTON HEALTHCARE CORPORATION PROVIDES QUALITY MEDICAL AND SURGICAL SERVICES REGARDLESS OF THE PATIENT'S RACE, CREED, SEX, NATIONAL ORIGIN, HANDICAP, AGE OR ABILITY TO PAY. IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, THE HOSPITAL PROVIDED 10,406 DAYS OF INPATIENT CARE TO 2,474 ACUTE PATIENTS; 2,473 DAYS OF INPATIENT REHABILITATIVE CARE TO 216 PATIENTS; 26 DAYS OF CARE TO 2 SKILLED NURSING PATIENTS; 1,487 DAYS OF INPATIENT GERIATRIC PSYCH TO 110 GERIATRIC PATIENTS; AND 59,897 OUTPATIENT SERVICE VISITS.
DIETARY SERVICES - NEWTON HEALTHCARE CORPORATION MAINTAINS A HOSPITAL CAFETERIA FOR THE BENEFIT OF PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND AS A CONVENIENCE TO ITS EMPLOYEES. IN ADDITION, 29,568 MEALS WERE PREPARED AND SOLD AT COST TO NEWTON MEALS ON WHEELS, A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION. ACTUAL COSTS FOR THESE SERVICES ARE NOT SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFIABLE AND ARE INCLUDED AS PART OF PATIENT SERVICES. SUCH PROGRAMS AND SERVICES INCLUDE ORGANIZING AND PARTICIPATING IN COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIRS; LOW-COST PROSTATE CANCER SCREENING PROGRAM; CHILD SAFETY SEAT CLINIC; CO-SPONSOR AND PROVIDE MEETING SPACE FOR SUPPORT GROUPS; OFFER A SEMI-WEEKLY WELL-BABY CLINIC FOR INFANTS UP TO 12 MONTHS OF AGE AT NO COST; SPONSOR VARIOUS COMMUNITY EVENTS.
