MISSION: SERVING LOCAL CHURCHES TO MINISTER IN THE AREA OF MENTAL WELLNESS, THROUGH PREVENTION, INTERVENTION AND RESTORATION.(1) THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES MENTORING SERVICES TO ELEMENTARY-AGE STUDENTS STRUGGLING WITH NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR OR SOCIAL SKILLS, UTILIZING VOLUNTEER MENTORS FROM LOCAL CHURCHES. OUR RESEARCH BASED MENTORING FOCUSES ON BUILDING POSITIVE CHARACTER TRAITS AND SUCCESS SKILLS, HELPING STUDENTS TO PERFORM BETTER IN THE CLASSROOM AND PREPARE FOR THEIR LIFE AHEAD. MENTORS ARE TRAINED AND GO THROUGH A BACKGROUND CHECK. ALL MENTORING OCCURS ON-SITE AT THE STUDENT'S SCHOOL. APPROXIMATELY 26 STUDENTS WERE SERVED DURING THE YEAR. (2) THE FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH CHURCHES OF VARYING DENOMINATIONS TO PROVIDE COUNSELING REFERRALS AND MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION. WE VET CHRIST-CENTERED CHRISTIAN COUNSELORS, RESEARCH INSURANCE AND FINANCIAL OPTIONS AND MATCH CLIENTS WITH A COUNSELOR WHO SPECIALIZES IN THE AREA OF THEIR NEED. OUR MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION IS FOCUSED ON BREAKING THE STIGMA OF MENTAL ILLNESS AMONG CHRISTIANS THROUGH ONLINE EDUCATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT. DURING THIS YEAR, WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 1175 CLIENTS THROUGH REFERRALS, OVER 1.3 MILLION INDIVIDUALS THROUGH OUR ONLINE MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION AND 1464 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH IN PERSON MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION, PARTNERED WITH 182 CHRISTIAN COUNSELORS AND FORMED A COALITION OF 55 PARTNER CHURCHES.SEE FOLLOWING STATEMENT FOR CONTINUATION...

THE CENTER IS LOCATED IN VANCOUVER, WA AND IS AVAILABLE FOR MISSIONARIES ON FURLOUGH, YOUTH GROUPS, CHURCH RETREATS/MEETINGS, GROUP COUNSELING, AND MENTAL HEALTH SEMINARS.
