CASA FAMILIA, INC. SUPPORTS THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR ADULTS WITH IDD IN AN ENRICHED COMMUNITY SETTING. TO DATE, THEY HAVE SECURED A LONG-TERM LEASE FROM MIAMI-DADE COUNTY ON 9 ACRES OF LAND IN KENDALL. PLANS ARE CURRENTLY BEING DEVELOPED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PHASE I WHICH WILL INCLUDE 50 1 AND 2 BEDROOM APARTMENTS, A COMMUNITY CENTER, PARKING AND OTHER AMENITIES FOR THE RESIDENTS WITH GROUNDBREAKING ANTICIPATED IN 2021. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST OF ITS KIND OF PROJECT IN MIAMI-DADE AND ONE OF ONLY SIX IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA.
