(1) EDUCATING AND BRINGING AWARENESS TO INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES ABOUT PEDIATRIC STROKE INCLUDING SYMPTOMS, CAUSES, EFFECTS, AND THERAPIES. (2) TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY PEDIATRIC STROKE THROUGH THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT, EDUCATION, AND OTHER RESOURCES. (3) TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT RESEARCH AND TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR CHILDREN SUFFERING FROM THE EFFECTS OF A PEDIATRIC STROKE.

CONTINUED TO FUND A "STROKE FUND" AT SEATTLE CHILDREN'S TO SPECIFICALLY SUPPORT FINANCIAL AID FOR FAMILIES WHOSE CHILD HAS BEEN IMPACTED BY STROKE, AS WELL AS PROVISION OF RESEARCH AND RESOURCES FOR PEDIATRIC STROKE.


AWARENESS AND FAMILIY SUPPORT PROGRAMS - DISTRIBUTED NEARLY HUNDREDS OF "WARRIOR BAGS" AND "BRAVE BOXES." WARRIOR BAGS INCLUDE RESOURCES AND INFORMATION AND ARE MAILED TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WHO HAVE SUFFERED A RECENT PEDIATRIC STROKE. BRAVE BOXES ARE MAILED TO CHILDREN WHO HAVE SUFFERED A STROKE AND ARE RECOVERING FROM A RECENT MEDICAL PROCEDURE OR UNDERGOING TESTS. BRAVE BOXES INCLUDE ITEMS TO ENCOURAGE AND EMPOWER EACH CHILD. ALSO RAISED AWARENESS OF PEDIATRIC STROKE AMONG MEMBERS GENERAL PUBLIC AND MEDICAL COMMUNITY. HELD A FAMILY SUPPORT DAY OUTING.


ESTABLISHED A SO CALLED "HELPING HANDS THERAPY GRANT PROGRAM" TO COVER THE COST OF THERAPIES AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR A FAMILY WITH A CHILD WHO HAS EXPERIENCED PEDATRIC STOKE. SOME FAMILIES HAVE LIMITED INSURANCE COVERAGE AND LIMITED RESOURCES TO COVER THESE EXPENSES. PSW PROVIDES A GRANT PROGRAM TO HELP FAMILIES FUND THESE THERAPIES AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES SO THAT THE CHILD CAN RECEIVE THE CARE HE OR SHE NEEDS.
