ADVANCING & DEVELOPING SEASONAL PROGRAMS - KINDRED ARTS IS A CULTURAL EQUITY INITIATIVE THAT CONCEIVES OF AND PRODUCES PUBLIC ART INTERVENTIONS AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS IN PUBLIC SPACES. PROGRAMS THAT CELEBRATE MULTICULTURAL TRADITIONS AND HISTORIES, COMMEMORATE THE DIVERSE HERITAGE OF PUBLIC SPACES AND CONTRIBUTE OBJECTS TO THE PUBLIC REALM THAT TELL A MORE HONEST AND REPRESENTATIVE STORY OF OUR SHARED HISTORY.


YANKO DEBUT - MOCAD IS HONORED TO PARTNER WITH KINDRED ARTS TO PRESENT THE DEBUT OF KENNEDY YANKO'S NEWEST WORK: TILTED LIFT ON THE MIKE KELLEY MOBILE HOMESTEAD LAWN. THIS SPECIAL EXHIBITION WILL FEATURE AN OUTDOOR SCULPTURE COMMISSIONED FOR THE MONUMENTAL TOUR, A TRAVELING EXHIBITION SERIES CONTRIBUTING OBJECTS TO THE PUBLIC REALM THAT TELL A MORE HONEST AND REPRESENTATIVE STORY OF OUR SHARED HISTORY. THIS ADDITION TO THE TOUR CREATES SPACE FOR MANIFESTATIONS OF BLACK CULTURE THAT EXTEND BEYOND RESISTANCE. TILTED LIFT OPENS A DIALOGUE ON THE POLITICS OF REPRESENTATION.
