SAFGS MISSION IS TO REMOVE SYSTEMIC BARRIERS TO ALL GIRLS PARTICIPATION IN STEM STARTING IN KINDERGARTEN, ENGAGE THEM THROUGH HANDSON LEARNING, INCREASE THEIR POSITIVE ATTITUDES TOWARD STEM, AND EQUIP THEM WITH 21ST CENTURY SKILLS.

WRAP UP OF 2021-2022: 312 GIRLS PARTICIPATED IN AFTER SCHOOL STEM PROGRAMS DURING THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR 10 TO 27-WEEK AFTERSCHOOL STEM PROGRAMS OFFERED AT 17 SCHOOLS 7 VIRTUAL FAMILY STEAM EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE 2021-2022 SCHOOLYEAR AND SERVING OVER 800 INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES AND 1600+ PARTICIPANTS (MANY FAMILIES HAD 2-4 MEMBERS PARTICIPATING) 1,000 PLANNED PARTICIPANTS FOR IN-PERSON CO-ED SUMMER CAMPS AT 5 EAST BAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HUBS 12 FEMALE STEM PROFESSIONALS VOLUNTEERED OVER 600 HOURS AS IN-PERSON TEACHING ASSISTANTS OVER THE 27 WEEKS OF CLASSES 28 FEMALE STEM PROFESSIONALS PARTICIPATED IN OUR ROLE MODEL PROGRAM, VISITING 1-2 SCHOOLS EACH DURING EACH OF 3 CURRICULUM SESSIONS (2 CLASSES AT EACH SCHOOL) = 112 VOLUNTEER HOURS 10 STEM NEAR PEERS (MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH A PASSION FOR STEM) VOLUNTEERED OVER 180 TOTAL HOURS AS IN-PERSON ASSISTANTS IN SAFGS FALL, WINTER AND SPRING SESSIONS MULTIPLE EVENTS TO SUPPORT AND HONOR WOMENS HISTORY MONTH: WARRIORS STEAMFEST, CHABOT SPACE AND SCIENCE FULL-DAY SPECIAL EVENT AND SAN JOSE SHARKS 50/50 RAFFLE PARTICIPATION TWO VIRTUAL PANEL EVENTS: OUR INAUGURAL WOMEN WHO LEAD FALL DISCUSSION WITH STEM EXPERTS WHO CONTRIBUTED TO AND HELPED DEVELOP THE COVID VACCINE, AND A SPRING COMMUNITY ROUNDTABLE ON INTERNATIONAL DAY OF GIRLS IN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY FOR A VIRTUAL CONVERSATION ABOUT ONLINE ACCESS AND SAFETY FOR YOUNG GIRLS
