GROWER SUPPORT PROGRAM: CONNECTED WITH OVER 120 FARMERS ACROSS ALL PROGRAMMING. CONTINUED LEAFF FOR ITS SECOND YEAR, SUPPORTING 40 FARMS AND MAKING $178,000 FOOD PURCHASES THROUGH THIS PROGRAM. 50% OF THE GROWERS WHO JOINED LEAFF IN 2020 SOLD OVER $350,000 IN PRODUCE INTO THE GOOD ACRE'S OTHER WHOLESALE CHANNELS IN 2021. ADDED 1 NEW FARM SPECIALIST, WHO IS A NATIVE HMONG SPEAKER, TO THE PROGRAM TEAM TO SUPPORT HMONG GROWERS.FACILITY USE & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: $1.2 MILLION DOLLAR'S WORTH OF LOCAL FOOD IN AND OUT OF OUR FOOD HUB, AGGREGATED FROM OVER 120 LOCAL FARMERS AND FOOD MAKERS PROVIDED SERVICES (BOXES, WASHING, PACKING) FOR OVER 40 DIFFERENT FARMS/FARMING ORGANIZATIONS


KITCHEN: 57,45 COMMERCIAL KITCHEN HOURS BOOKED BY 17 SMALL FOOD BUSINESSES, ONBOARDING 14 NEW BUSINESSES INTO THE PROGRAM IN 2021 PARTNERED WITH LOCAL NONPROFIT AURI TO OFFER "SO YOU WANT TO START A FOOD BUSINESS" WORKSHOPS TO SUPPORT FOOD ENTREPRENEURS IN BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT. MORE THAN 60 PARTICIPANTS SIGNED UP FOR WORKSHOPS IN 2021. TAUGHT 4 FARM TO SCHOOL CULINARY EDUCATION CLASSES TO 3 DOZEN SCHOOL NUTRITION STAFF IN 4 DIFFERENT DISTRICTS COMPLETED OUR SECOND VOCUL CULINARY EDUCATION COHORT. TWELVE STUDENTS COMPLETED 14 WEEKS OF PAID HANDS-ON CULINARY EDUCATION AND INTERRED IN FARM TO SCHOOL AND PREPARED MEAL HUNGER RELIEF KITCHENS.


WHOLESALE PROGRAM: PIVOTED FROM FARM TO SCHOOL TO HUNGER RELIEF; 72% OF SALES WERE TO HUNGER RELIEF ORGANIZATIONS 81% OF ALL PRODUCE PURCHASES WERE FROM BIPOC GROWERS IN 2021. SOURCED THE PRODUCE FOR THE COMMUNITY MEAL BOX PROGRAM THROUGH METRO FOOD JUSTICE, AN EFFORT TO MAKE FRESH FOOD ACCESSIBLE IN NORTH MINNEAPOLIS AND EAST ST. PAUL, SUPPORTING OVER 400 HOUSEHOLDS PARTNERED WITH FOOD-AS-MEDICINE ORGANIZATIONS, LIKE PROJECT WELL, TO FULFILL PRODUCE PRESCRIPTION BOXES THAT WERE DISTRIBUTED INTO HEALTHCARE PROGRAMS


FARM SHARE PROGRAM: 18-WEEK REGULAR SEASON FARM SHARE PROGRAM HAD 540 MEMBERS, 34 MORE THAN IN 2020. CONTINUE THE PAY WHAT YOU CAN PROGRAM OFFERING. 103 LATE SEASON SHARE MEMBERS SOURCED 85% OF FARM SHARE PRODUCED FROM BIPOC GROWERS. INVESTED OVER $250,000 WITH SMALL, LOCAL FARMERS, WITH $0.83 OF EVERY DOLLAR GOING BACK TO THE GROWER. SOLD MORE THAN $90,000 IN ADD ONS INTO THE LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM.
