BIOMEDICAL AND CLINICAL RESEARCH SPONSORED BY THE ASSOCIATION BENEFITS VETERANS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC THROUGH ADVANCES IN DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF DISEASE AND DISABILITY. 2 THE ASSOCIATION'S EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE KEY TO DISSEMINATING RESEARCH RESULTS SO THAT KNOWLEDGE CAN BE TRANSLATED TO CLINICAL PRACTICE TRAINING OF HOSPITAL STAFF IN THE LATEST TREATMENTS AND HELPING PATIENTS UNDERSTAND AND MANAGE THEIR MEDICAL CONDITIONS. 3. THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDED SUPPORT TO THE FOLLOWING AREAS DURING THE YEAR: MENTAL HEALTH, ENDOCRINOLOGY, CARDIOLOGY, INFECTIOUS DISEASE, AND GASTROENTEROLOGY.
