BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS AND RAISING FUNDS TO SUPPORT EDUCATION, IN PARTICULAR, THE WINGS TO FLY COMPETITIVE SECONDARY SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. EQUITY GROUP FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL (EGFI) BELIEVES THAT PROVIDING ACCESS TO EDUCATION IS VITAL IF AFRICA'S YOUNG PEOPLE ARE TO BREAK ONCE ENTRENCHED CYCLES OF POVERTY AND CHANGE THE ECONOMIC COURSE OF THEIR COMMUNITIES, COUNTRIES, AND THE CONTINENT. SINCE 2010, WINGS TO FLY HAS HELPED OVER 16,168 BRIGHT YOUNG PEOPLE FROM DESPERATELY POOR BACKGROUNDS REACH HIGH SCHOOL, WITH OVER 90% OF SCHOLARS GRADUATING ON TIME. SCHOLARS ARE CHOSEN FROM EVERY COUNTY IN KENYA; 86% ARE ORPHANED BY ONE OR BOTH PARENTS; AND WELL OVER HALF ARE GIRLS.
