THE FESTIVAL GOAL IS TO PROMOTE THE CACAO AND CHOCOLATE INDUSTRY FOR HAWAI ISLAND. THE FESTIVAL FORMAT WAS USED IN ORDER TO FULFILL BOTH AN EDUCATIONAL AS WELL AS ENTERTAINING VENUE TO MAKE THE PEOPLE OF THE EAST SIDE OF HAWAI ISLAND AWARE OF THE INDUSTRIES POTENTIAL FOR THEM AS A GROWER AND THEN INTRODUCE THEM TO THE POSSIBILITY OF MAKING CHOCOLATE. BY BRINGING TOGETHER CACAO GROWERS AND CHOCOLATE MAKER INTO ONE EVENT SHOWED THE 1,000 ATTENDEES THAT THE BUSINESS OF CACAO AND CHOCOLATE ON HAWAI ISLAND EXISTS AND CAN BE PROFITABLE.
