SEEDING GALVESTON (SG) IS A 501(C)3 NON-PROFIT URBAN FARM PROJECT WHOSE MISSION IS TO DEVELOP SUSTAINABLE URBAN AGRICULTURE ON GALVESTON ISLAND THROUGH HANDS-ON TEACHING AT OUR FLAGSHIP FARM/AGRICULTURAL LAB SITE, RESIDENTIAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL KITCHEN GARDEN INSTALLATIONS, EXTENSIVE COLLABORATION WITH COMMUNITY GROUPS, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, TOURS AND FARM FAIR DAYS -- ALL PART OF AN EFFORT TO CREATE AN ISLAND-WIDE LOCAVORE FOOD CULTURE. ABOVE ALL IS OUR GOAL TO INCUBATE AND SUPPORT MULTIPLE MARKET FARMS ON THE ISLAND AS A MEANS TO ENSURE ADEQUATE LOCALLY GROWN FOOD FOR EVERYONE WHILE CREATING A LOCAL ECONOMY TO SUPPORT BOTH GARDENERS AND MARKET FARMERS.
