PUBLIC SAFETY AND EMPLOYMENT DRIVER'S EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:CPSTS PIVOTED ITS DELIVERY OF THIS PROGRAM FROM CLASSROOM TO A VIRTUAL PLATFORM TO OFFER YOUTH AN OPPURTUNITY TO EARN THEIR FIRST CREDENTIAL, A MARYLAND STATE DRIVER'S LICENCE, WHICH IS REQUIRED FOR EMPLOYEMENT IN MANY PUBLIC SAFETY OCCUPATIONS AND OTHER EMPLOYMENT. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES WRITTEN AND BEHIND THE WHEEL TRAINING WHICH ENABLES STUDENTS TO ACQUIRE A SKILL THAT LEADS TO "DRIVING READINESS AND A DRIVER'S LICENCE, WHICH IS CENTRAL ENTERING THE PROFESSIONS OF FIREFIGHTER/EMT AND POLICE OFFICER AND OTHER CAREER OPPURTUNITIES.
