WE SEEK TO BUILD A LONG-LASTING INFRASTRUCTURE THAT WILL ENGAGE WORKING TEXANS IN ELECTORAL AND LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITIES THAT AFFECT THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.

IN 2020 WORKERS DEFENSE ACTION FUND'S ADVOCACY WAS FOCUSED ON THE TEXAS STATE LEGISLATURE AND IN THE BUILD A BETTER TEXAS LEGISLATIVE AGENDA TO STRENGTHEN SAFETY AND WAGE PROTECTIONS FOR WORKERS, SUPPORT PAID SICK LEAVE, AND SUPPORT AN EQUITABLE TREATMENT OF IMMIGRANTS. AT THE LOCAL LEVEL, THE CORPORATION ADVOCATED FOR POLICIES LIKE PAID SICK LEAVE, CONSTRUCTION WORKSITE STANDARDS UNDER THE BETTER BUILDER PROGRAM, AND POLICIES TO PROTECT IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES.
