SHADES OF PINK FOUNDATION CALIFORNIA PROVIDES SHORT TERM FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO WOMEN IN CALIFORNIA WHO ARE UNDERGOING ACTIVE BREAST CANCER TREATMENT AND ARE STRUGGLING TO MEET BASIC LIVING EXPENSES. MANY WOMEN UNDERGOING BREAST CANCER TREATMENT FACE COMPLETE LOSS OR SEVERELY REDUCED INCOME DURING TREATMENT. OUR FOUNDATION AIMS TO HELP THESE WOMEN BY PROVIDING GIFT CARDS FOR GAS, FOOD AND BIG BOX STORES FOR OTHER BASIC LIVING NECESSITIES. WE HAVE FOUND THAT THE TEMPORARY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY SHADES OF PINK FOUNDATION CALIFORNIA ALLEVIATES SOME OF THE FINANCIAL STRESSES THAT SURROUND BREAST CANCER AND ALLOWS OUR GRANT RECIPIENTS TO FOCUS ON HEALING.DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED MARCH 31, 2024, SHADES OF PINK FOUNDATION CALIFORNIA AWARDED 152 INDIVIDUAL GRANTS TOTALING $65,700. THE AVERAGE AGE OF RECIPIENTS WAS 50, AND 33% OF THE WOMEN RECEIVING GRANTS REPORTED HAVING MINOR CHILDREN AT HOME. THE RECIPIENTS LIVED THROUGHOUT SAN DIEGO COUNTY, IN AREAS SUCH AS OCEANSIDE, FALLBROOK, ALPINE, JAMUL, SPRING VALLEY, ENCINITAS, IMPERIAL BEACH, EL CAJON AND SAN DIEGO.
