IACO HAD FOUR STRATEGY GOALS FOR 2020. FIRST, IACO WILL INCREASE GLOBAL AWARENESS AND RECOGNITION OF CARERS IN COUNTRIES ACROSS THE GLOBE AND WITH PROMINENT HEALTH AND SOCIAL ORGANIZATIONS BY 2021. IACO'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDED: GLOBAL DISSEMINATION OF THE LANDMARK IACO REPORT: "GLOBAL STATE OF CARE" THROUGH A DIGITAL COMMUNICATION STRATEGY ENGAGING MEMBER COUNTRIES AND AFFILIATED NETWORKS, DEVELOPED A PLAN TO EXPAND THE GLOBAL STATE OF CARE REPORT AND INCLUDE ADDITIONAL COUNTRIES, LIAISED WITH A RESEARCH TEAM TO DESIGN A PLAN TO DETERMINE THE NUMBER OF CAREGIVERS WORLDWIDE, AND PROVIDED ONGOING ADVICE FOR AND GUIDANCE TO EMBRACING CARERS AND ALIGNED INITIATIVES WHERE APPROPRIATE. SECOND, PROMOTE AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE IMPACT AND INFLUENCE CARERS HAVE ON CARE RECIPIENTS' HEALTH OUTCOMES, HEALTH, AND SOCIAL CARE SYSTEMSAND ECONOMIES. IACO'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDED: PROMOTED AWARENESS OF THE ROLE AND IMPACT OF CAREGIVER ON SPECIFIC PATIENT POPULATIONS INCLUDING PERSONS LIVING WITH HEART FAILURE AND THOSE LIVING WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS; THIS WORK WAS DONE THROUGH THE DISSEMINATION OF 2 SEMINAL REPORTS COMPLETED IN 2018, AND FACILITATED FURTHER DISCUSSION ON CAREGIVERS NEEDS AND THE IMPACT OF THE UNITED NATIONS' SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS. THIRD, STRATEGY GOAL: PROVIDE AN EVIDENCE-BASED FOUNDATION AND CALL TO ACTION TO FOSTER A WORLDWIDE MOVEMENT TO RECOGNIZE AND SUPPORT CARERS THROUGH THE CREATION AND PROMOTION OF A GLOBAL CARERS STRATEGY AND ACTION PLAN. IACO'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDED: INCREASED AWARENESS OF LEADING EVIDENCE-INFORMED PRACTICES THAT SUPPORT CAREGIVERS THROUGH DISSEMINATION OF THE SET OF INNOVATIVE CARER PRACTICES DEVELOPED IN 2018 AND 2019, AND DEVELOPED AND DISSEMINATED OVEARCHING PRINCIPLES FOR CAREGIVERS. FOURTH, STRATEGY GOAL: CREATE A SUSTAINABLE ALLIANCE RECOGNIZED AS A VALUED INTERNATIONAL SOURCE FOR NETWORKING, BUILDING AWARENESS AND FACILITATING ACTION FOR CARERS ACROSS THE WORLD. IACO'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDED: HOSTED THE IACO ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING IN PARIS (MAY) BRINGING TOGETHER 30 STAKEHOLDERS FROM 15 COUNTRIES TO SHARE LEADING PRACTICES AND SET OUR STRATEGY ACTIONS FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR, AND FEATURED IACO COUNTRY MEMBERS ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENT ON THE IACO WEBSITE :HTTPS://INTERNATIONALCARERS.ORG.
