CELI FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM: CELIS SIGNATURE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM ATTRACTS EMERGING LEADERS WITH DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS AND EQUIPS THEM WITH TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT TRAINING, AND A PASSIONATE COMMUNITY DEDICATED TO BUILDING AN EQUITABLE, DECARBONIZED, AND RESILIENT ENERGY ECOSYSTEM. CELIS FIVE-MONTH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM FOR WORKING PROFESSIONALS IS TAUGHT BY INFLUENTIAL THOUGHT LEADERS AND EXPERT PRACTITIONERS IN THE FIELD. FELLOWS ARE CHALLENGED TO THINK CRITICALLY ABOUT CURRENT ENERGY POLICY AND MARKET STRUCTURES, EXAMINE EXISTING AND HISTORICAL INEQUITIES, IDENTIFY EXISTING BARRIERS TO CLEAN ENERGY DEPLOYMENT AND INNOVATION, AND DEVELOP HOLISTIC SOLUTIONS TOWARDS AN EQUITABLE ENERGY TRANSITION. THE CELI 2021 FELLOWSHIP TRAINED 172 EMERGING LEADERS ACROSS THE SPECTRUM OF CLEAN ENERGY TECHNOLOGY, REGULATORY STRUCTURES, BUSINESS, FINANCE, POLICY, AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP. THE FELLOWSHIP ALSO PROVIDED CONCRETE LEADERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENTS, INCLUDING PUBLIC SPEAKING, BUSINESS PITCHING, AND WRITTEN THOUGHT PIECES.METRICS INCLUDE:IMPLEMENTED FELLOWSHIPS IN 5 REGIONS WASHINGTON, DC; BAY AREA; CHICAGO, NEW YORK AND NATIONAL THROUGH A 5-MONTH PROGRAMLAUNCHED THE NEW YORK AND NATIONAL COHORTS IN 2021SELECTED AND SUPPORTED 172 NEW FELLOWSGAVE OUT 43 TOTAL CLEAN ENERGY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE CELI FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMENGAGED 164 EXPERT SPEAKERS AND LECTURERS TO PARTICIPATE IN DELIVERING WEBINARS, CURRICULUM, AND SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS103 SESSIONS DEVELOPED AND EXECUTED68 CELIONS (CELIONS ARE FELLOWSHIP ALUMNI) VOLUNTEERED TO IMPLEMENT THE FELLOWSHIPS, INCLUDING SERVING ON THE SELECTIONS COMMITTEES, SOURCING AND PREPARING GUEST SPEAKERS, DEVELOPING CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, AND CREATING SOCIAL EVENTS.40 CELI COMMUNITY MEMBERS SERVED AS VOLUNTEER CAPSTONE ADVISORS25 MAJOR DONORS & CORPORATE SPONSORS GAVE CELI CONTRIBUTIONS AND GRANTS8 CELIONS SERVED AS CORE VOLUNTEER MEMBERS OF THE LEADERSHIP TEAM, GIVING AS MUCH AS 10 HOURS PER WEEK TO STAFF THE WEEKLY COHORT MEETINGS


EDICT: CELI LAUNCHED THE EDICT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IN 2021. EDICT IS A BUSINESS-WORKFORCE PARTNERSHIP THAT CENTERS THE VOICES AND EXPERIENCES OF STUDENTS FROM TRADITIONALLY EXCLUDED GROUPS IN THE CLEAN ENERGY ECOSYSTEM. CELI PARTNERS WITH ELEMENTAL EXCELERATOR AND FUTUREMAP ON THE EDICT SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM WHICH PLACES UNDERGRADUATES AND RECENT GRADUATES IN SUMMER JOBS WITH HOST COMPANIES THAT HAVE TAKEN THE EDICT PLEDGE, A COMMITMENT TO ADVANCING INCLUSIVITY IN THE WORKPLACE AND IN THE CLIMATE JOBS ECOSYSTEM OVERALL.
