THE LOCKER EDUCATES AND EMPOWERS YOUTH, THROUGH SERVICE LEARNING, TO MEET THE NEEDS OF OTHERS IN THEIR COMMUNITY SO THAT EVERY CHILD HAS A SENSE OF NORMALCY.

THE LOCKER SUPPORTS ALL 18 SCHOOLS IN GISD; PROVIDING SUPPORT TO STUDENTS K-12. THE LOCKER FOUNDATION HAD MORE THAN 1,500 VISITS TO LOCKERS IN GISD. THESE STUDENTS WERE PROVIDED WITH CLOTHING AND SHOES, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, HYGIENE ITEMS, SLEEPING BAGS, ETC. IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE PHYSICAL NEEDS OF STUDENTS, THE LOCKER FOUNDATION PROVIDED GRADUATION CAPS AND GOWNS TO 53 STUDENTS, COVERED ACTIVITY FEES FOR 40 STUDENTS, PURCHASED SHOES AND CLOTHES FOR 253 STUDENTS, AWARDED TWO 1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION, AND HAD OVER 30 STUDENT VOLUNTEERS AT EVENTS. IN-KIND CONTRIBUTIONS OF FACILITIES AND SUPPLIES UTILIZED BY THE LOCKER FOUNDATION TOTALED 45,727. THE LOCKER FOUNDATION HAS SEVERAL CHARTER PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF TEXAS THAT PROVIDE BASIC AND LIFE-ENHANCING ITEMS TO STUDENTS. THE LOCKER STUDENT VOLUNTEERS IMPLEMENT SERVICE LEARNING PROJECTS AT THEIR SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THEIR FELLOW STUDENTS IN NEED. ALL CHARTER PROGRAMS CONDUCT AT LEAST TWO SERVICE LEARNING PROJECTS PER YEAR. CHARTER PROGRAMS CONSIST OF K-12 STUDENTS.
