IN-PERSON GATHERINGS - TCA HOSTED ITS FIRST-EVER REGIONAL CONFERENCE, NATC-R IN HILO, HAWAII. IT WAS ATTENDED BY OVER 300 TAIKO ARTISTS, AND OVER 200 COMMUNITY MEMBERS. THESE CONFERENCES SERVE AS A PLACE FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR ARTISTS, NETWORKING, AND STRENGTHENING THE KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER AND INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE TAIKO COMMUNITY TO PRESERVE THE HERITAGE OF THIS ARTFORM. 2023 EXPENSES FOR THIS PROGRAM INCLUDED SUPPORT STAFF, LOGISTICS AND EQUIPMENT, AND ADDING SUPPLIES/SIGNAGE TO TCA INVENTORY.
EDUCATION AND OUTREACH - OTHER TCA PROGRAMS INCLUDE EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS AND WEBINARS, SUPPORTIVE MARKETING, REGIONAL AND ONLINE PROGRAMS, AND COLLECTION AND STEWARDSHIP OF TAIKO RELATED DATA THROUGH THE TAIKO CENSUS. ALTHOUGH TCA IS A MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION, PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE TO ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED, REGARDLESS OF MEMBERSHIP STATUS.
