TO INSTRUCT INDIVIDUALS FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING OR DEVELOPING THEIR CAPABILITIES TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND TO ADVANCE EDUCATION

AS PANDEMIC AND CIVIL UNREST CONTINUED TO PLAGUE HAITI, IT WAS A YEAR OF IMMENSE CHALLENGE FOR STUDENTS, AND FAMILIES. OUR PRIMARY FOCUS WAS KEEPING CHILDREN IN SCHOOL BUT FOOD SECURITY WAS AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR EFFORTS. THREE FAMILIES NEEDED HELP RELOCATING AFTER VIOLENCE OUTSIDE THEIR HOMES THREATENED THE SAFETY OF THEIR CHILDREN. WE HELPED BUILD TWO FAMILY HOMES AS WELL. TO DATE ALL OF OUR STUDENTS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED ANOTHER YEAR OF THEIR EDUCATIONS BUT WITH INTERRUPTIONS WHEN VIOLENCE FORCED TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF SCHOOLS ACROSS HAITI. FOUR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ARE ON TRACK TO GRADUATE WITH DEGREES IN BUSINESS, AGRICULTURE, NURSING, AND DENTISTRY. WE ARE HOPEFUL THAT 2022 BRINGS PEACE TO HAITI AND RESUME SAFE TRAVEL TO THE COUNTRY.
