TO IMAGINE AND BUILD THE WORLD WE WANT TO LIVE IN THROUGH YOUTH-DRIVEN, MULTIGENERATIONAL COLLABORATION AND JUSTICE-CENTERED ARTISTIC PROCESS AND PERFORMANCE THAT GENERATES RELECTIONS, CONNECTION, AND ACTION.

COMMUNITY BASED ARTS PROGRAMS - OUR COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMMING INCLUDED YEAR LONG RESIDENCIES AT MULTIPLE SCHOOLS, FOCUSED AROUND SOCIAL EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND HEALTHY SCHOOL COMMUNITIES, AS WELL AS PARTNERSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, SUCH AS MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS, MUSEUMS, AND ADVOCACY GROUPS. RISING YOUTH THEATRE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 1,500 STUDENTS THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR


ORIGINAL PRODUCTIONS - RISING YOUTH THEATRE PRODUCES ORIGINAL PLAYS WITH YOUTH AND ADULTS AROUND SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES. THIS YEAR INCLUDED TOURING PERFORMANCES OF KEYSMASH, A PLAY ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH, WHICH ENGAGED APPROXIMATELY 30 ARTISTS AND WAS ATTENDED BY 600 PEOPLE IN PERSON, THE ARIZONA ORPHAN ABDUCTION IN DEVELOPMENT, AND THE LIGHT RAIL PLAYS WHICH RETURNED TO LIVE PERFORMANCE FOR ITS 9TH YEAR WITH 15 ARTISTS AND FOR APPROXIMATELY 500 AUDIENCE MEMBERS


ARTS LEARNING CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS - RISING YOUTH THEATRE OFFERS A WIDE VARIETY OF CLASSES AND CAMPS AT OUR SPACE AT THE PHOENIX CENTER FOR THE ARTS. THESE PROGRAMS SERVE YOUNG PEOPLE AGES 5-18, AND USE ART AS A TOOL FOR GROWING AND LEARNING, BUILDING COMMUNITY, AND ADVOCATING FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR PEERS.DURING THE 2022-2023 YEAR THESE PROGRAMS REACHED 250 YOUNG PEOPLE.
