THE NIAMAKORO EDUCATION PROJECT IS ORGANIZED AROUND A SINGLE CHARITABLE ACTIVITY -- RUNNING AND SUPPORTING A COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER IN THE NIAMAKORO NEIGHBORHOOD OF BAMAKO MALI. IN 2022 WE CONTINUED TO OPERATE A LIBRARY WHICH SERVES THE STUDENTS OF THE MAOUROU DIARRA SCHOOL AND OTHER CHILDREN IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. LIBRARY SERVICES INCLUDE OPEN HOURS DURING THE WEEK AND ON SATURDAYS ACADEMIC "RESOURCE" CLASSES WHERE STUDENTS GET SPECIALIZED LITERACY INSTRUCTION AND ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTION IN SUBJECTS SUCH AS ENGLISH AND COMPUTERS AND EVENING WEEKEND "COURS PRIVÉES" CLASSES DESIGNED TO HELP THE OLDER STUDENTS STUDY FOR AND PASS THE NATIONAL ENTRANCE EXAM WHICH DETERMINES IF THEY'LL BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE ON TO HIGH SCHOOL.
