OUR MISSION IS TO ASSIST THOSE MOTHERS WHO HAVE BEEN ABANDONED BY THEIR HUSBANDS OR, WHO HAVE DIED PREMATURELY. ASSISTING THEM WITH CHILD CARE, TRANSPORTATION OR CONTINUING EDUCATION.

OVERALL UPDATE ON PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS BEGINNING WITH CUSTOMIZED TRANSPORTATION SERVICES: WHEN ABANDONED OR WIDOWED MOHERS HAVE AN UNEXPECTED CRISIS WHEN LOSING THEIR HUSBANDS THROUGH ABANDONMENT, DEATH, INCARCERATION, OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES, MANY TIMES THEY NEED A FAST SOLUTION FOR TRANSPORTATION STABILITY TO KEEP THEMSELVES WORKING, FIND EMPLOYMENT, OR TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION, ALL WHILE JUGGLING A NEW JOB OF BEING A BRAND NEW SINGLE MOM. TO ASSIST IN THIS AREA, MOTHERS ABANDONED OR WIDOWED WS ABLE TO SERVE BY HELPING FAMILIES WITH 46 TRANSPORTATION-RELATED ITEMS: THE RSOURCES PROVIDED INCLUDED SUCH SMALL ITEMS LIKE OIL CHANGES TO PREVENT FUTURE MECHANICAL PROVLEMS OR GAS CARDS TO GET FAMILIES TO WOEK, SCHOOL, OR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS. THE AID WNT ALL THE WAY UP TO LARGER ASSISTANCE BY HELPING WITH CAR PAYMENTS, MAJOR CAR REPAIRS, AND THE AQUISITION OF 5 AUTOKMOBILES FOR FIVE NEEDY FAMILIES WITHOUT RELIAGLE TRANSPORTATION. 4B. EMERGENCY & TEMPORARY CHILDCARE: AN IMPORTANT FACTOR TO KEEP ABANDONED OR WIDOWED MOTHERS WORKING WHO HAVE FOUND THEMSELVES IN A CRISIS UNEXPECTEDLY, IS TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY CHILDCARE OR AFTERSCHOOL CARE WHILE WAITING FOR A LONG-TERM SOLUTIONS. MOTHERS ABANDONED OR WIDOWED WAS POSITIONED TO REACT QUICKLY TO HELP KEEP THE MOMS EMPLOYED WHILE PUTTING THEIR CHILDREN IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT. WE WERE ABLE TO ASSIST 13 FAMILIES WITH APPROXIMATELY 208 HOURS OF EMERGENCY AND SHORT-TERM AFTERSCHOOL OR CHILDCARE. 4C. EDUCATION: BEING A NEW SINGLE MOM WITH INCOME AT OR BELOW THE POVERTY LINE, WOMEN CAN FIND THE TASK IMPOSSIBLE TO START OR ADVANCED THEIR EDUCATIONAL GOALS FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR CHILDREN. OUR AIM IS TO ASSIST AND SUPPORT THEIR JOURNEY AND ENCOURAGE THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS. THIS YEAR WE ASSISTED WITH 21 CONTINUING EDUCATION RELATED ITEMS. OUR MAIN FOCUS WAS CHILDREN'S AREA OF CONCERN IN SCHOOL. WE WERE ABLE TO PURCHASE 20 TEACHER'S TOOL STORE CARDS. THIS EXPERIENCE ALLOWED THE TEACHER, PARENT, AND THE STUDENT ALL BE INVOLVED TO PURCHASE THE BEST TOOLS TO HELP THE STUDENT PULL UP THEIR GRADES BY SUBJECT MATTER. SUPPORTING A MOM WITH INTERPRETER TRAINING CLASSES WAS ALSO A HIGHLIGHT. WHEN DONE, SHE WILL BE A PAID COURTROOM INTERPRETER, ESPECIALLY VALUABLE IN THE STATE OF TEXAS.
