THE TEACHING CLEVELAND FOUNDATION (TC) IS A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RESOURCE THAT ENGAGES PEOPLE IN TRANSFORMATIVE PLACE-BASED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES. TC'S UNIQUE APPROACH FOSTERS A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF PLACE AND, ULTIMATELY, INSPIRES PEOPLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR PLACE IN POSITIVE WAYS. TC CULTIVATES POWERFUL CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THEIR PLACE, INSPIRING THEM TO CONTRIBUTE IN WAYS THAT DRIVE CIVIC, ECONOMIC, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND SOCIAL IMPACT.

THROUGHOUT FISCAL YEAR 2023, TEACHING CLEVELAND (TC) WORKED WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO HELP THEM MAKE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE CURRENT STATE OF NORTHEAST OHIO AND THE HISTORICAL CONTEXT WHICH PRODUCED IT. IN FISCAL YEAR 2023, TC PROVIDED PROFRAMMING TO VARIOUS GROUPS. TC SERVED APPROXIMATELY: - 650 AREA EDUCATORS & ADMINISTRATORS, WHO PARTICIAPTED IN TC PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, WHICH FOCUSED ON THE HISTORY OF ETHNICITY & RACE IN CLEVELAND - 75 STUDENTS AT CUYAHOGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE THROUGH 12 HOURS ON THE HISTORY OF CLEVELAND - 53 AREA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AS A PART OF THE TEACHING CLEVELAND STUDENT CHALLENGE - 20 INDIVIDUALS FROM TWO ORGANIZATIONS ON THE HISTORY OF RACE IN CLEVELAND
