INSPIRED BY THE LOVE OF CHRIST, WE ARE A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT EXISTS TO HELP REFUGEES ACHIEVE SUCCESSFUL RESETTLEMENT IN THE MEMPHIS, TN AREA.

GENERAL REFUGEE/ASYLEE ASSISTANCE: FAMILY SERVICES PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF ASSISTANCE TO REFUGEES AND ASYLEES, SUCH AS MENTORING TO NEW MOTHERS, TRANSPORTATION TO APPOINTMENTS, HELP WITH NAVIGATING MEDICAL SYSTEMS, EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, HEALTH INSURANCE, COMMUNITY SERVICES, JOB SEARCH AND JOB COACHING, LOCATING AND OBTAINING HOUSING, HOME OWNERSHIP TRAINING, AND OTHER ASSISTANCE CLIENTS MAY NEED. IN 2023, WE SERVED 271 CLIENTS IN OUR FAMILY SERVICES DEPARTMENT, WHICH INCLUDED CULTURAL ORIENTATION, ENGLISH/ESL, TRANSPORTATION AND INTERPRETATION SERVICES. IMMIGRATION SERVICES PARTNERSHIPS WITH SEVERAL MEMPHIS LEGAL FIRMS ENABLED US TO SERVE OVER 280 CLIENTS IN NEED, HELPING THEM TOWARD THEIR GOALS OF OBTAINING WORK AUTHORIZATIONS, FAMILY UNIFICATION, US ASYLUM APPROVAL, US PERMANENT RESIDENCY, AND US NATURALIZATION.


OUR NEXT-GENERATION PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR YOUNG ADULTS WITH AN INTERRUPTED EDUCATION WHO ARE TOO OLD FOR HIGH SCHOOL BUT NEED A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA, AMERICAN LIFE, AND OR JOB SKILLS TO ADVANCE IN LIFE, AS WELL AS TEENS WHO ARE PREPARING FOR COLLEGE. THE 2023 YEAR WE ASSISTED EIGHT YOUNG ADULTS WITH THEIR CONTINUING EDUCATION NEEDS.
