1) 1199 BRIDGE IS A SYSTEM THAT PROVIDES ADDITIONAL OPTIONS TO IDENTIFY SYMPTOMS AND RESOURCES AND SAVE LIVES OF SWORN SAFETY OFFICERS.2) 1199 BRIDGE IS A BACKUP PROGRAM. IF A MEMBER PERCEIVES A GAP IN OTHER RESOURCES, 1199 BRIDGE WILL PROVIDE COUNSELING TO ALLOW THE OFFICER TO HAVE COMFORT IN RETURNING BACK TO A LONG-TERM COUNSELING PROGRAM SPONSORED BY THE EMPLOYER. THIS WILL HELP THE OFFICER FOLLOW A DIRECTION TO AVOID SUICIDE.
