WE STRIVE TO EDUCATE CONSUMERS ABOUT THEIR FOOD AND CONNECT THEM WITH THE PEOPLE WHO GROW AND RAISE IT. WE ARE ALSO PROUD TO SUPPORT OKLAHOMANS IN NEED, WITH A FOCUS ON USING AGRICULTURE AND OUR STATES BOUNTY TO PROVIDE HOPE FOR OUR FELLOW CITIZENS.

COUNTY LEVEL EDUATION EVENTSALLOWING LOCAL SPONSORS TO INVEST IN FOUNDATION PROGRAMS SPECIFICALLY IN THEIR COUNTY. 4-H AND FFA STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN COUNTY SPECIFIC PROGRAMS. THIS BRINGS THE ADULT AND YOUTH EDUCATION COMPONENTS TOGETHER BY LOCATION TO HELP TRANSLATE KNOWLEDGE AND BEST PRACTICES ACROSS GENERATIONAL BOUNDARIES.
TO PROMOTE AGRICULTURE THROUGH YOUTH EDUCATION PROGRAMS. 1. THE OKFB FOUNDATION FOR AGRICULTURE AWARDED MINI-GRANTS TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THE STATE TO HELP PROMOTE PROGRAMS SUCH AS: SCHOOL GARDENS, GROW TOWERS, AND CHICKEN COOPS IN THE CLASSROOM SETTING. 2. THE OKFB FOUNDATION FOR AG CREATED A WATERMELON CONTEST WHERE OKFB DISTRIBUTED SEEDS TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS THAT WERE THEN GROWN AT THE STUDENTS HOMES TO PROMOTE GROWING THEIR OWN FOOD SOURCE. 3. DONATED BOOKS FOR THE BUSHEL FOR BOOKS PROGRAM IN WHICH A BUSHEL OF BOOKS IS DONATED TO TEACHERS ON AN APPLICATION/GRANT BASIS. 12 BASKETS WERE FILLED WITH ACCURATE AGRICULTURE BOOKS AND AWARDED. EACH BASKET IS VALUED AT ROUGHLY $250.
TO PROMOTE AGRICULTURE THROUGH ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS1. COMMNITY HARVEST: MADE STRATEGIC DONATIONS THROUGHOUT THE STATE TO PROMOTE AND PROVIDE PROGRAMS THAT FEED THE COMMUNITIES SUCH AS: CLASSES ON FOOD PREPARATION, BLESSING BOXES, AND OTHER FORMS OF FOOD SECURITY.2. PORK FOR PACKS PROGRAM: DONATION OF OVER 400 HOGS TO AREA FOOD BANKS FOR PROCESSING INTO PROK STICKS. ADDITIONALLY, GRANTS WERE MADE TO REGIONAL FOOD BANKS TO DECREASE FOOD INSECURITY IN OUR STATE.3. RESTORE OKC: SUPPORT OF RESTORE OKCS NEW CHICKEN AND GOAT PROJECT.4. SPONSORED THE FARMERS MARKET CONFERENCE TO REACH PRODUCERS THAT ARE NOT TRADITIONAL AGRICULTURE BUT THAT DO HAVE MORE FACE TO FACE TIME WITH THE CONSUMER. THROUGH THIS OUTREACH, WE PROVIDED GRANTS TO LOCAL PRODUCERS TO PROMOTE AGRICULTURE THROUGH RECIPE CARDS, PRODUCE BAGS, GEOCACHING, AND OTHER PROMOTIONAL ITEMS.5. SPONSORSHIP OF THE WOMEN IN AG AND SMALL BUSINESS CONFERENCE TO HELP EDUCATE AND ASSIST WOMEN IN AG
