TO RECRUIT, TRAIN, AND SUPERVISE LAY VOLUNTEERS WHO BECOME CHILD ADVOCATES FOR ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN IN JUVENILE DEPENDENCY PROCEEDINGS; TO EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND THOSE PERSONS, OFFICES, AND INSTITUTIONS CONCERNED WITH THE NEEDS AND SERVICE DELIVERY TO DEPENDENT CHILDREN IN THE JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM.

C.A.S.A. OF VENTURA COUNTY RECRUITS, TRAINS AND SUPERVISES COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS WHO BECOME SWORN OFFICERS OF THE COURT AND WORK AS COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES IN ACCORDANCE WITH RULES AND REGULATIONS ESTABLISHED BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA JUDICIAL COUNCIL, STATE OF CALIFORNIA WELFARE AND INSTITUTIONS CODE, CALIFORNIA CASA, NATIONAL CASA, AND STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND VENTURA COUNTY RULES OF COURT. DURING 2022-23, CASA HAD 251 ACTIVE COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES. 201 VOLUNTEERS ASSIGNED SERVED 249 CHILDREN. OF THESE, 10 WERE INFANTS AND TODDLERS (AGES 0-5), 189 WERE NON-MINOR DEPENDENTS (AGES 6-17), AND 50 WERE AGES 18 AND OVER. CASA OFFERED SIX 40-HOUR TRAININGS AND ASSIGNED 32 NEW TRAINEES TO CASES.EXCEEDING THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA JUDICIAL COUNCIL'S MINIMUM REQUIREMENT FOR 28 IN-SERVICE TRAININGS PER YEAR, CASA OFFERED 68 CLASSES.
