IN 2021, THE WASHINGTON SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH ALLIANCE (WA SBHA) ADVANCED SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CARE IN WASHINGTON THROUGH POLICY AND ADVOCACY, CAPACITY-BUILDING, COMMUNITY AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT, AND COMMUNICATIONS. WE SUCCESSFULLY ADVOCATED AND LOBBIED FOR STATE LEGISLATION THAT ESTABLISHED A STATE PROGRAM FOR SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CENTERS (SBHCS)AT THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH THAT WILL PROVIDE SBHC GRANTS AND WILL PARTNER TO PROVIDE SBHC TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, RESOURCES AND SUPPORT TO THE SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH FIELD. THROUGH OUR NEWSLETTER, WEBSITE, BLOG AND DIRECT COMMUNICATIONS, WA SBHA ENGAGED AND SHARED TIMELY NEWS WITH SBHCS, COMMUNITIES, FUNDERS, POLICYMAKERS AND STAKEHOLDERS INVESTED IN STUDENT HEALTH. IN 2021, MORE THAN 10 NEW SBHC SITES WERE ESTABLISHED IN WASHINGTON.
