FOUNDATION EVENTS INCLUDED (1) STARGAZING WITH THE AMATEUR ASTRONOMERS ASSOCIATION OF NEW YORK AND THE EVERGREENS CEMETERY, WHERE ATTENDEES OBSERVED AND LEARNED ABOUT THE STARS WITH MEMBERS OF THE AMATEUR ASTRONOMERS ASSOCIATION WITH HIGH-POWERED TELESCOPES AND BINOCULARS; (2) ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION, WHICH WAS HELD AS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY ARBOR DAY EVENT TO LEARN ABOUT TREES AT THE EVERGREENS, INCLUDING A TREE CLIMBING DEMONSTRATION BY A PROFESSIONAL ARBORIST, TREE IDENTIFICATION WALK, INFORMATION ON REGIONAL TREE INVASIVE SPECIES, TREE AND FLOWER PLANTING, AND ART ACTIVITIES; AND (3) OPEN HOUSE NEW YORK, WHICH INCLUDED A TOUR OF THE INTERIOR OF THE RECEIVING VAULT AT THE EVERGREENS AND THE HISTORIC CHAPEL.
