THE CAMP IS A NO COST WEEKEND EVENT THAT ALLOWS 50 YOUTHS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE DEATH OF A LOVED ONE TO SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCES WITH PEERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR LOSS. AFTER THE 2014 CAMP, OUR SURVEYED PARENTS INDICATED THAT 90% OF CHILDREN SHOWED IMPROVEMENT IN ONE OR MORE BEHAVIORAL AREA (ANGER, FIGHTING, BEING AGREEABLE, AND BEING HAPPIER). ADDITIONALLY, 90% OF THE CHILDREN HAVE ALREADY DEMONSTRATED THEIR USE OF A COPING SKILL SUCH AS JOURNALING OR BREATHING TECHNIQUES. WHEN WE SURVEYED THE PARENTS, 100% OF THEM FELT THAT IT WAS VERY HELPFUL FOR THEIR CHILD TO BE WITH OTHER CHILDREN WHO HAD EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR LOSS.
