TO ENRICH OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH THE POWER OF LIVE MUSIC THAT EDUCATES, ENTERTAINS, AND INSPIRES. OUR GOALS SPAN EDUCATION AND ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS, BEING A STRONG VOICE FOR THE ARTS THROUGH OUR ADVOCACY EFFORTS, FOCUSING ON THE ARTISTIC QUALITY OF THE ORCHESTRA, AND STRENGTHENING OUR FISCAL GROWTH AND SUSTAINABILITY.

THE FARGO-MOORHEAD SYMPHONY CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE PREMIERE ARTS ORGANIZATIONS IN THE REGION. MUSIC DIRECTOR CHRISTOPHER ZIMMERMAN, NOW IN HIS NINTH YEAR AT THE PODIUM, CONDUCTS FMSO IN ITS FIVE PAIRS OF MASTERWORKS CONCERTS AND LEADS OUR INTERNATIONAL CONDUCTOR SEMINAR. ASSOCIATE CONDUCTOR JANE LINDE CAPISTRAN CONDUCTS FMSO IN ITS EDUCATIONAL, FAMILY AND POPS CONCERTS. FMSO MUSICIANS CREATE INFORMAL, CHAMBER-ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCES MARKETED AS FUN-SIZE CONCERTS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING INCLUDES ANNUAL YOUNG PEOPLE'S CONCERTS (THREE PERFORMANCES DURING THE SCHOOL DAY FOR ALL 4TH GRADERS IN THE REGION), A FAMILY MATINEE CONCERT (SAME PROGRAMMING AS THE YOUNG PEOPLE'S CONCERTS OFFERED TO THE PUBLIC ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON), AN ANNUAL YOUNG ARTISTS SOLO COMPETITION, AN INTERNATIONAL CONDUCTING SEMINAR, AND THE WELCOME TO A WORLD OF BEAUTIFUL MUSIC OUTREACH PROJECT TO CHILDREN AND SENIOR CITIZENS. ON ONE MASTERWORKS CONCERT EACH YEAR, WE WELCOME THE MUSICIANS OF THE FM AREA YOUTH SYMPHONIES' SENIOR HIGH ORCHESTRA TO OUR STAGE FOR A SIDE-BY-SIDE PERFORMANCE.
