STAGES ST. LOUIS IS COMMITTED TO PRESERVING AND ADVANCING THE ART FORM OF MUSICAL THEATRE THROUGH EXCELLENCE IN PERFORMANCE AND EDUCATION. THE MISSON OF THE STAGES PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY IS TO INSPIRE PASSION, CREATIVITY, AND CURIOSITY IN STUDENTS OF ALL AGES.

PROGRAM 1 - MUSICAL THEATRE PRODUCTIONSSTAGES ST. LOUIS HAS PRODUCED BROADWAY-QUALITY MUSICAL THEATRE SINCE 1987. THE MAINSTAGE SEASON RUNS FROM MAY THROUGH OCTOBER AND FEATURES THREE MUSICALS WITH 39 PERFORMANCES EACH. AUDITIONS ARE HELD IN ST. LOUIS AND NEW YORK ANNUALLY TO ENSURE STAGES HIRES THE MOST DIVERSE AND TALENTED CASTS POSSIBLE. NOTABLY, STAGES IS PROUD TO BE THE TOP EMPLOYER OF LOCAL, UNION ACTORS IN ST. LOUIS, PROVIDING 450 UNION WORK WEEKS ANNUALLY. STAGES MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS REACH NEARLY 50,000 PATRONS EVERY SEASON, WITH AUDIENCE MEMBERS FROM MORE THAN 235 CITIES ACROSS 33 STATES.


PROGRAM 2 PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMYTHE STAGES PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY (SPAA) WAS CREATED IN 2004 TO BRING PERFORMING ARTS EDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS TO ST. LOUIS STUDENTS. THE SPAA IS THE ONLY LOCAL PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY CONNECTED TO A PROFESSIONAL THEATRE COMPANY. SPAA EDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS REACH MORE THAN 4,500 STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS EVERY YEAR, WITH MORE THAN 2,500 STUDENTS RECEIVING DIRECT CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION. THE SPAA WILL NOT TURN A STUDENT AWAY DUE TO FINANCIAL NEED, PROVIDING MORE THAN $70,000 IN SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE AND UNDERWRITING ANNUALLY.
