GREATER ST. LOUIS HOME BUILDING INDUSTRY ADVANCEMENT FUND (HBIAF) IS A TRUST ESTABLISHED IN 1966 TO SERVE THE HOUSING INDUSTRY. IT IS PRIMARILY MAINTAINED BY EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTIONS BASED ON HOURS WORKED BY CARPENTERS. CONTRIBUTIONS SUPPORT CARPENTER APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING, STAFF SUPPORT, LEGAL, EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER RELATED AREAS. DURING 2023, THERE WERE 2,129 APPRENTICES ENROLLED IN THE PROGRAM.


HBIAF HOSTS BUILD MY FUTURE STL, AN EXPERIENTIAL CAREER EXPO GEARED TOWARD HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND CENTERED ON THE BUILDING TRADES AND BROADER CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. STUDENTS SPEND A DAY PARTICIPATING IN HANDS-ON EXHIBITS AND VIRTUAL REALITY SIMULATIONS PROVIDED BY OUR LOCAL INDUSTRY PARTNERS.
