A VETERANS SERVICE ORGANIZATION. VFW POST 3838 PROMOTES COMRADESHIP AMONG, AND PROVIDES SERVICES TO ITS MEMBERS, WHO ARE ALL VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES SERVICE TO NON-MEMBER NEEDY VETERANS, FAMILIES OF VETERANS, AND TO OTHERS IN THE COMMUNITY WHO NEED ASSISTANCE. VFW POST 3838 DONATES LABOR, FOOD, MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT, TRANSPORTATION, AND MONEY TO THOSE IN NEED BOTH VETERAN AND NON-VETERAN.THE ORGANIZATION PROMOTES AMERICANISM AND PATRIOTISM, GIVING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS IN SCHOOLS AND YOUTH GROUPS. IT PROVIDES AMERICAN FLAGS TO SCHOOLS, YOUTH GROUPS, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND PRIVATE CITIZENS WHO DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO PURCHASE THEIR OWN.
