Part 3 - Line 4a

BEACON HILL PROVIDES IN-SCHOOL MATH AND READING TUTORING FOR LOW-INCOME K- 5TH GRADE STUDENTS IN PUBLIC AND CHARTER SCHOOLS IN THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH AREA. EACH CHILD RECEIVES ABOUT 2 HOURS OF TUTORING PER WEEK FOR 30 WEEKS. TUTORING IS PROVIDED BY TRAINED TEACHERS AT A 1:3 TEACHER/STUDENT RATIO USING PROVEN, STRUCTURED CURRICULUM (GIDEONMATHANDREADING.COM). SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRAMS ARE ALSO PROVIDED, SUCH AS ENRICHMENTS, INCENTIVES AND PARENT WORKSHOPS, TO ENHANCE THE STUDENT'S EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY AND INFORM AND ENGAGE PARENTS IN THE ACADEMIC PROCESS.

BEACON HILL'S AFTER-SCHOOL AND SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAMMING CHANGES THE LIVES OF CHILDREN & PARENTS THROUGH: 1. ASSISTED MATH (PRESCHOOL-2ND GRADE): TUTORING TO YOUNG LEARNERS AT A STUDENT TO TEACHER RATIO OF 3 TO 1. PROVEN MATERIALS ARE USED TO CONDUCT A MATH ASSESSMENT, DEVELOP A STUDENT PROFILE AND THEN PROVIDE INDIVIDUALIZED, SELF-PACED TUTORING. 2. MATH FOR INDEPENDENT LEARNERS (3RD-12TH GRADE): AS STUDENTS PROGRESS IN THEIR CAPACITY THEY ARE MOVED TO A MORE INDEPENDENT LEARNING ENVIRONMENT WHERE THE TUTORING RATIO IS 4:1. 3. ASSISTED READING LEARNERS (PRESCHOOL-2ND GRADE): USES THE SAME APPROACH AS THE IN-SCHOOL LITERACY TUTORING PROGRAM (ABOVE). 4. READING FOR COMPREHENSION (3RD - 12TH GRADE). THIS PROGRAM IS TAUGHT USING THE GIDEON CURRICULUM AT A 4 TO 1 STUDENT/TEACHER RATIO. 5. PARENT ACADEMY - PARENT WORKSHOPS TO INFORM AND ENGAGE PARENTS IN THEIR CHILD'S EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY.
