IOWA ASCD IS THE SOURCE FOR DEVELOPING INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND TRANSLATING RESEARCH INTO DAILY PRACTICE. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: "THE SOURCE", A NEWSLETTER SHARED TWICE A MONTH EXCEPT IN JULY; CONVERENCES, INCLUDING NIET WORKSHOPS, CURRICULUM ACADEMY, AND SEL WITH DANIELLE THEIS. WE ALSO PROVIDE MENTORING FOR CURRICULUM LEADS.

THE ORGANIZATIONS STRATEGIC GOAL IS TO ENABLE ALL IOWA EDUCATORS TO CLEARLY FOCUS UPON THE NEEDS OF STUDENTS BY PROVIDING PROGRAMMING WHICH SERVES THE NEEDS AMONG MEMBERS AND POTENTIAL MEMBERS WHO ARE EDUCATORS IN IOWA. "THE SOURCE" A DIGITAL NEWSLETTER IS SHARED TWICE A MONTH (EXCEPT JULY)


IOWA ASCD IS FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP ANDIMPROVING EDUCATORS DAILY PRACTICES.


WORKSHOPS AND CONFERENCES OFFERED WERE NIET WORKSHOPS BASED ON BUILDING STUDENT OWNERSHIP THROUGH EFECTIVE TEACHERS AND LEADERS. THE CURRICULUM ACADEMY FOR CURRICULUM LEADS IN THE STATE. IT IS BASED ON THE EIGHT FUNCTIONS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE CURRICULUM LEADS. SEL WITH DANIELLE THEIS FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING THE CAPACITY OF TEACHERS, COUNSELORS, INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES, PRINCIPALS AND SUPERINTENDENTS IN MEETING THE MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS OF STUDENTS.

THE IOWA ASCD WEBSITE, HTTP://WWW.IOWAASCD.ORG, IS PROVIDED TO ALL OUR MEMBERS AND OTHER EDUCATORS ACROSS THE STATE AND NATION. IT PROVIDES INFORMATION BY SUBJECT-SPECIFIC CONTENT, ROLE AND APPROACHES TO LEARNING. WE BEGAN A REVIEW OF THE WEBSITE IN 2021 TO MAKE IT ULTI- AUTHENTICATED AND WITH FRESH RESOURCES. WE PROVIDE DAILY INFORMATION THROUGH TWITTER @IOWAASCD TO MORE THAN 3500 FOLLOWERS. WE ALSO PROVIDE INFORMATION 2-3 TIMES A WEEK THROUGH OUR FACEBOOK PAGE.
